Yorkshire Sculpture Park

Rediscovering lost gems with landscape masterplanning The Landscape Agency devised and implemented a comprehensive historic landscape management plan (HLMP) for Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP), one the UK’s most highly acclaimed gardens, reflecting the rich heritage of its buildings and landscape in a programme of renewal and enhancement. The HLMP was part of a turnaround that took the gardens from the English Heritage At Risk register in 2010 to the thriving tourist attraction that it is today, welcoming over 300,000 visitors a year. The Landscape Agency conducted extensive research to establish how the landscape had evolved over the last 200+ years, rediscovering the many original vistas and waterways that had been unintentionally lost, and helping to rescue a number of historic buildings across the estate had fallen into disrepair.
