Urban Extension Design Code, Cambridge

Barratt Homes has achieved outline planning approval for phase one of a distinctive housing extension located to the northwest of Cambridge city centre. The initial phase of 51 hectares contains 1,700 new homes focused around a green framework of open space and includes a new urban centre and town square, primary school, a 6 hectare central park, 3.8 hectare of sports facilities including football, rugby, cricket pitches, 1.19 hectare of children's play facilities and 8.7 hectares of informal space including green corridors and allotments.

Our role in phase one is to take forward the approved design and access statement and develop a landscape strategy and landscape design code in conjunction with the design team and local authority.
