Colby Woodland Garden
Colby Woodland Garden is a beautiful hidden gem in South Wales, boasting a secluded position in a wooded valley within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. However the principle attraction of the garden – its spring rhododendron display – is being gradually destroyed by the plant pathogen Phytopthera ramorum.
Recognising the need to 'reinvent' the reason for visiting the garden, The National Trust engaged The Landscape Agency to develop an Interpretative Masterplan, seeking ways to develop the natural genius of the place into dynamic and exciting proposals providing new ways to engage visitors in the social and cultural history, biodiversity and industrial archaeology at the site. The resultant Masterplan employs artistic interpretation, landscape design and an intrinsic understanding of the operational needs of the site, following consultation with staff.
