Gunton Park, Norfolk
The renovation project of Gunton Park has been extensive as well as hugely successful; reverting the arable land back into deer park. The design was originally devised by Humphrey Repton, with further additions by William Gilpin.
The restoration project has researched and implemented these designs including tree and clump layout, species choice, and the creation of new driveways and lakes.
Tree and woodland work to accompany the masterplan included felling applications to open up historic viewlines that had been lost over time. A bill of quantities was also included and trees were selected and ordered including a trial planting of disease resistant elms - Ulmus americana 'Princeton'.
